DJC Annual General Meeting

DJC reached a momentous milestone on Wednesday evening holding our first Annual General Meeting,

This marks just over a year since Charles and Myself founded the club.

During the meeting we heard Finance reports from Charles, Stats report from Dan and a general Chairman's report from myself

Our President, Allan Perry then oversaw the committee resign en masse and then all be voted back on

The only officer who did not stand again was our Press & Publicity officer John Danks w/Kirsten Danks who were huge supporters of Charles and I and stood by us when we took the decision to secede from Plymouth,

A wonderful family who were one of the first to come and train at the Life Centre and they will all be sorely missed

The Position has been filled by Rob Cowell who is one of our volunteer parents and a fantastic edition to our committee

The following positions were filled:-

Chairman: Ross Taylor

Treasurer: Charles Knape

Secretary: Dan Brown w/Andrea Brown

Welfare Officer: Jess Frise w/Steve Jackson

Head Coach: Mike Nugent

Club Development Officer: Andy Hay

Press & Publicity Officer: Rob Cowell

Volunteer Co-ordinator: Ros Hopkins

Volunteer Co-ordinator: Tony Murphy

On a personal note, I would like to say once again that when Charles and I first discussed moving away from Plymouth we envisaged a very small operation of the 2 classes in Plymouth and Tavistock, it is because of the hard work and countless unpaid hours from all of our committee and volunteers and the enthusiasm and support from our members and members parents that Drake has grown exponentially to the point now where we have classes taking place 5 out of 7 days of the week, we have Primaries, Juniors, Seniors and Masters all training regularly, we have medals being won every month and above all else have fostered a strong team, club and work ethic
