Drake Judo Club Becomes a Recognised Supporter of 'This Girl Can'

Drake Judo club is delighted and very proud to announce that we have become a recognised supporter of the ‘This Girl Can’ campaign!

This Girl Can is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, we want to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.

Drake Judo is very lucky that we have some wonderful Women who act as role models for our younger female members!

Our gender ratios are very good, however Judo along with other combat sports and martial arts has in the past lost many female members when they reach adolescence. Sadly traditionally these pursuits were not seen a s feminine but Drake Judo Club is keen to encourage that strength, athleticism and power are the very foundation of femininity
